About the doctor & staff
It's important for you to know about the qualifications of the doctor and the staff members. Our staff has had advanced TMJ training in Bio-Research equipment (the latest in computerized technology) used for diagnostic and treatment. We offer comfort, special care and promptness to serve patients and facilitate healing.
Dr. Hoefs
Dr. Hoefs is a native of Nebraska and has been in private practice for over 29 years, 16 of those years in Lincoln. In 1979, he earned his dental degree from University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. As a strong believer in personal growth, he is always pushing his own educational boundaries. He has participated in over 1,000 hours of TMD, dental sleep medicine, and orthodontic continuing education.

Barb
Barb is the Office manager at Lincoln TMJ Therapy. She has been involved in various aspects of clerical business for the past 25 years. Barb has been on staff with Dr. Hoefs for ten years, and has been trained in the complexities of insurance for TMD and sleep patients, as well as practice management of a TMD practice, with specialists in the field.
Dawn
Originally from Fremont, Nebraska, Dawn is a dental assistant at Lincoln TMJ Therapy. She has been a dental assistant since 1988. As a TMD patient herself, Dawn has a special understanding of what our patients are experiencing. She began working with TMD patients in 1990, and continues to help educate patients and raise awareness of TMD. At the office, Dawn works directly with the patient, doing diagnostic testing and x-rays. She has completed several hours of special training with TMD diagnostic equipment.
Gwyn
From western Nebraska, Gwyn graduated from Mid Plains Community College in North Platte with a degree in Dental Assisting. She later moved to Lincoln, where she joined Lincoln TMJ Therapy. As the Treatment Coordinator, Gwyn handles the insurance and scheduling. Currently undergoing TMD treatment, Gwyn has found nearly all of her symptoms subside.
